ADMISSION FEES

 

            The Government shall have the power to charge admission fees to all performances and/or concerts produced by the students of the Governor’s Program for Gifted Children.

MAJOR AND MINOR OFFENSES

 

SECTION I

 

            A major offense shall be defined as an offense that jeopardizes the existence and/or hinders the functions of the Governor’s Program for Gifted Children, or the second offense of any act which jeopardized the reputation of the Program. Any act which results or may result in the extensive damage of person or property shall also be considered a major offense. A minor offense shall be any offense which does not constitute a major offense as defined above.

 

SECTION II

           

            Penalties for major offenses shall range from the minimum penalty of probation to the maximum penalty of expulsion. Penalties for minor offenses shall consist of reprimands and/or social restrictions.

 

SECTION III

 

            This Act shall be subject to interpretation by the Court.

 

ACT 71-2

LICENSING OF PROFIT- MAKING ENTERPRISES

 

SECTION I

 

            All companies, corporations, or individuals involved in the buying with the intent of making a profit, selling or leasing for a profit items shall require a license.

 

SECTION II

 

1.                   Licenses shall be issued without charge, but companies shall be investigated

before and license be issued.

 

2.                   The Secretary shall approve and issue licenses.

 

3.                   Licenses shall be valid for one year.

 

 

 

SECTION III

 

1.                   Unlicensed companies shall be abolished.

 

2.                   Operation of an abolished or unlicensed corporation shall be a major offense.

 

 

SECTION IV

           

1.                   All publications require licenses to become official.

 

2.                   Only official newspapers shall be admitted to closed trials and other private matters.

 

 

3.                   Unofficial newspapers shall be printed by the editor.

 

 

SECTION V

 

1.                   Licenses may be revoked by the Secretary when he or she sees fit.

 

2.                   If any further questions are raised, they shall be presented before a hearing of the Student Government.

Act 72-1

 

FORM FOR CORPORATION LICENSES

 

SECTION I

 

            The form for a Corporation License shall be as follows:  In the upper left-hand corner of the slip, the name of the corporation shall be printed clearly. Under this, the location of the corporation, being either the boys’ dorm or the girls’ dorm, shall also be printed. A space shall be provided in the upper right-hand corner of the slip for the names of the officers, being the President, the Vice President, and the Secretary-Treasurer of the corporation. Three officers are not necessary for a small corporation. In the middle of the slip, a space shall be provided for the date the license is issued, the date that it is to expire; both dates are to be printed. The signatures of the Secretary of the Student Government shall be put on all licenses issued; that signature will appear in the lower left-hand corner.

            All licenses will expire on the last day of the Governor’s Program for Gifted Children.

ATTORNEYS OF THE JUDICIARY

 

SECTION I

           

            All persons coming before the Court System shall have the right to select their own attorneys and their assistants.

 

 

 

SECTION II

 

            Both the attorneys and their assistants shall have the same rights, including that of questioning witnesses.

 

SECTION III

 

            Persons selected as attorneys or assistants must first pass a test to determine their knowledge of the Constitution and Laws. This test shall be prepared by the Chief Justice of the Student Court with the advice and consent of the Legislature.

 

Act 73-2

 

POWERS OF THE ELECTION OFFICER

 

SECTION I

 

            The Election Officer shall have the power to set a time for the opening and closing of the polls.

 

SECTION II

 

            The time set for the opening and closing of the polls shall be conspicuously posted by the Election Officer.

 

SECTION III

 

            The polls, once closed, may not be re-opened under any circumstances so long as the above conditions are met.

FACULTY ADVISOR

 

SECTION I

 

            A Faculty Advisor shall be appointed by the Director of the GPGC to determine the correctness of form in resolutions and bills submitted to the Legislature

 

SECTION II

 

            This Advisor shall suggest changes in form to make bills and resolutions concurrent with proper forms.

 

 

 

 

SECTION III

 

            The term of office for this Faculty Advisor shall be until the Director of the GPGC decides to appoint someone else.
