LOBBY CURFEW

 

SECTION I

 

            Act 98-1 is hereby repealed in its entirety.

 

SECTION II

 

            In order to enable students of the Governor’s Program for Gifted Children to have more time to socialize with members of the opposite sex, and utilize lobby resources, lobby curfew is hereby set at 8:55 PM, Sunday through Thursday unless closed earlier by the President of the Government of the GPGC, or an authority designated by the Director of the GPGC.

 

SECTION III

 

            If any portion, provision, or application of this Act is held to be invalid, the remaining provisions of this act which may be given effect without the invalid portion, provision, or application are to be given the fullest possible effect. To that end, the provisions of this Act are severable.

 

 

Act 99-2

 

DORM CURFEW AND SIGN OUT POLICY

 

SECTION I

 

            After 5:00 PM, Monday through Thursday and 9:00 AM Saturday and Sunday, all students must “sign out” each time they leave the dormitory. A document designated the “sign out sheet” will be provided by the dormitory staff so that each student may record his name, dormitory classification (e.g. Alpha, Bets, etc.), destination, companions, time of departure and estimated time of return. Students must then record the actual time of return on the sheet upon his return. Should the time of return exceed the estimated time of return, circumstances will be reviewed by the dormitory staff and in the case of student negligence, are then subject to penalty according to dormitory regulations. Failure to note time of return will also be subject to penalty according to dormitory regulations.

 

SECTION II

 

            When a student is leaving the dormitory for destination within the McNeese University campus, he shall be accompanied by two (2) other students of any classification. When a student is leaving the dormitory for a destination outside of the bounds of the McNeese University campus, he shall be accompanied by two (2) other students, provided that one member of the trio enjoy the status of either Alpha, Beta, or Gamma. No student shall be permitted to leave the campus of McNeese University before 5:00 PM without special permission from and in the company of a member of the GPGC faculty or staff.

 

 

 

 

 

 

SECTION III

 

            Any students enrolled in academic classes designated a part of the Graduate Division will be required to return to the dormitory at or before 8:30 PM.  Any student enrolled in classes designated as part of the Undergraduate Division will be required to return to the dormitory at or before 8:00 PM. All students, regardless of academic or dormitory classification, will be required to return to the McNeese University campus before 8:00 PM. Failure to return to campus before 8:00 PM will be grounds for penalty according to dormitory regulations.

 

SECTION IV

 

            Upon leaving the campus, students will be permitted to travel to, and only to, destinations specified by the Coordinator of Housing. A list of these destinations will be posted in the dormitory and shall be approved by the director of the GPGC. This list shall be separated into two sections, one of which will be approved for everyday visitation, and the other reserved for visitation at the discretion of the Coordinator of Housing or his explicit designee. In the case of Coordinator discretion, special limitations may be placed on such visitations so as to ensure that students will be kept safe and out of harm’s way during both travel and visitation of said destinations.

 

SECTION V

 

 

            Should any portion, provision, or application of this Act is held to be invalid, the remaining portions, provisions and applications of provision, shall remain intact and be upheld by dormitory staff. To this end, the provisions of this Act are severable.

 

 

Act 01-1

TICKET COURT REQUIREMENT

 

SECTION I

 

            Ticket court will be mandatory for students who have received $1.00 and $5.00 fines.

 

SECTION II

 

            The original fine amount will be doubled if a student fails to make a mandatory appearance in ticket court.

 

SECTION III

 

            It will not be mandatory that students who receiving a ticket valued at $0.25 appear in ticket court.

 

SECTION IV

 

            It will not be mandatory that students who receive tickets for being locked out of their rooms appear in court.

 

SECTION V

 

            Should any portion, provision, or application of this act be found invalid, the remaining portions, provisions, and applications shall remain intact and be upheld. To this end, the provisions of this act are severable.

 

 

 

SECTION VI

 

            All laws or parts of laws in conflict herewith are repealed.

 

ACT 01-2

PHONE REGULATIONS

 

SECTION I

 

            On Sunday through Thursday, no student will use the telephone after 10 PM.

 

SECTION II

 

            On Friday and Saturday, no student will use the telephone after 11 PM.

 

SECTION III

 

            Violation of this act will be punishable by a $1.00 fine for the first offense and a $5.00 fine for subsequent offenses.

 

SECTION IV

 

            Should any portion, provision, or application of this act be found invalid, the remaining portions, provisions, and applications shall remain intact and be upheld. To this end, the provisions of this act are severable.

 

SECTION V

 

            All laws or parts of laws in conflict herewith are repealed.

 

Act 01-3

PHONE TIME LIMIT

 

SECTION I

 

            No person may spend more than 15 consecutive minutes talking on the phone.

 

SECTION II

 

            Violation of this Act shall be punishable by an $1.00 fine.

 

SECTION III

 

            Should any portion, provision, or application of this act be found invalid, the remaining portions, provisions, and applications shall remain intact and be upheld. To this end, the provisions of this act are severable.

 

SECTION IV

Act 01-4

NECESSITY OF THE CONSTITUTION

 

SECTION I

 

            Each elected government official will receive a copy of the most recently published version of the Constitution upon induction.

           

SECTION II

 

            Should any portion, provision, or application of this act be found invalid, the remaining portions, provisions, and applications shall remain intact and be upheld. To this end, the provisions of this act are severable.

 

SECTION III

 

All laws or parts of laws in conflict herewith are repealed.

 

Act 01-5

 

ACTIVITY COMMITTEE

 

SECTION I

 

            A committee of counselors and students working or attending full time at the Governor’s Program for Gifted Children will be created.

 

SECTION II

 

            The committee’s duties will be to plan and carry out the extracurricular activities during the week and on weekends.

 

SECTION III

 

            The committee will consist of rotating counselors and a male and female student from each class. The counselor that is responsible for the activities for the weekend will oversee the committee the week preceding their assigned weekend.

 

SECTION IV

 

            The House of Representatives will vote each committee member into their position.

 

SECTION V

 

            The committee members will be paid a weekly salary, which will be decided by the president.

 

 

SECTION VI
