The GPGC Bookstore - The Great Books

Welcome to the GPGC's Bookstore - in association with booksXYZ.com. We have assembled a listing on The Great Books, as interpreted by Encyclopaedia Britannica. While buying their Great Books collection is the quickest (and probably the cheapest) way to get all of the following books, it does require quite a financial commitment. An alternative is to read them one by one.

Below are links to listings of the Great Books. They are organized in two ways - chronological and by subject. Please forgive any license taken, some of these works are difficult to categorize.

Most of the works found in the next few pages are available for purchase from booksXYZ.com. If you would like information on buying a certain work, click on the title and you will be taken to booksXYZ.com's website. In some cases, there are many editions available. Our links generally will be for paperback editions that will serve well without being too expensive.

Some works are simply not available in any form, or are prohibitively costly. In these cases, the work will be listed, but there will be no link to booksXYZ.com. We have tried to provide other links for these works to give you more information about them and their authors.
